Happy Glam-oween, witches. If you’re anything like us, you’ve been planning this year’s Halloween makeup look since the start of summer, ready to ‘creep it real’ on fright night. And, the trick (or treat...) to achieving a scarily good beauty look? It’s all about striking just the right balance between creepy AF and hauntingly hot. Enter Halloween clown makeup… Roll up, roll up, because we’ve got all the tips you need to amaze and astound everyone in your path with a clown makeup look. Makeup brushes at the ready…
Step 1
Achieving the perfect base is no joke. Start your Halloween makeup look with Lasting Matte Primer (coming soon!), dotting onto the forehead, nose, cheeks and chin. Blend outwards lightly with fingertips to smooth over skin.
Step 2
Once you’ve smoothed on your primer, use a sponge to blend Lasting Matte Foundation all over the face, neck and décolletage, creating a seamless finish. Got a blemish that’s come back to haunt you? Apply Lasting Matte Concealer (coming soon!) to put the nail in the coffin on imperfections.
Step 3
Onto the main event: creating clown makeup eyes. Glide Wonder’Swipe 2-in-1 Liner to Shadow in the pink shade Mega Hottie onto lids, blending the pigment out with fingertips, up to the brow bone. Next, apply the same colour along the lower lash line and blend with a cotton bud to smoke it out.
Step 4
Sculpt and fill eyebrows with Brow This Way Eyebrow Sculpting Kit, then draw two semi-circles above the centre of each eyebrow using Soft Khol Kajal Eyeliner Pencil in Pure White. Next, draw a full circle on the tip of the nose, adding 3D depth by tracing Soft Khol Kajal Eyeliner Pencil in Jet Black around one half of the circle.
Step 5
Time to clown around. For flawless winged liner, trace Exaggerate Liquid Eyeliner from the inner to outer corners of the upper lash line, then extend out into a small flick at both corners. Build out the depth of the line, then repeat this step on the lower lash line.
Step 6
Take Exaggerate Liquid Eyeliner in Black and create a long, triangular shape that reaches from the centre of your eyebrow to just below the hairline. Repeat at the centre of your lower lash line, finishing below your cheek. Draw another, much smaller triangle on the lower lash line, that sits between the centre and the outer corner of your eye.
Step 7
Use Wonder’Swipe 2-in-1 Liner to Shadow in Fashun to add a dot at the point of each triangle, and another at the inner corner of each eye. Finish eyes with a sweep of Scandaleyes WOW Wings Mascara.
Step 8
Why so serious? Next up, achieve that joker-inspired pout. Etch around the lip line with Exaggerate Eyeliner Pencil in Noir, flicking out at the corners to create an exaggerated smile. Feather eyeliner inwards for a contoured lip look.
Step 9
To finish, dot Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colour in Fire Starter onto lips, then blend out with fingertips to meet the black liner, creating an ombre lip effect. Seal with a slick of Oh My Gloss! Lip Gloss in Crystal Clear to creep it real.
